I have never done a giveaway on My Cape Cod Kitchen … this is a first! I don’t plan to host giveaways often, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to offer this prize up to you, because it contains a few of my favorite things: Cabot Cheddar and ChopChop Magazine, the fun cooking magazine for families.

So, why is this prize pack so great?
1) Because you’ll get some of the greatest cheddar in the world: Cabot Cheddar. Most of you already know about my love for Cabot Creamery’s cheddar (have you tried their Legacy Collection Alpine cheddar? The best.), whipped butter and Adrian’s love for their Greek vanilla bean yogurt. My love for Cabot started many years ago when I worked at Shaw’s Supermarkets, and I had the opportunity to go to VT to visit a few of the Cabot Cooperative dairy farms, visit a cheese production facility and visit the corporate headquarters. Cabot Creamery is owned by 1,100 farm families throughout New York & New England and these farm families are some of the most hard-working people you’ll ever meet.

2) ChopChop Magazine is very near and dear to my heart. Being local in MA, where ChopChop was founded I’ve had the opportunity to work with ChopChop founder and President, Sally Sampson through the years in my various roles at Shaw’s Supermarkets and beyond. Just a couple years ago, before Lucca arrived, I taught ChopChop cooking classes at Boys and Girls Club in MA, using ChopChop curriculum and recipes. The classes were a great success and every kiddo who participated dramatically changed his/her perception for the better about cooking and healthy food. The kids’ eyes were opened to the fun and challenging experience of cooking and they loved trying and sharing new foods that they helped to prepare.
I love the ChopChop magazine and have purchased countless subscriptions as gifts throughout the years – it’s a great gift. The recipes are simple, healthy, affordable, kid-friendly and most importantly, tasty. Plus each issue has important lessons within its pages to get kids excited about getting in the kitchen, cooking and having fun. We know that kids who are involved in the growing/harvesting/prep/cooking process are more likely to eat that healthy food. ChopChop is a great read for kids, parents, caretakers – and really anyone interested in cooking. Lucca is still too little to be actively involved in the cooking process, but we do have him “help” out in the garden, eat tomatoes fresh off the vine, smell garden herbs, help mix ingredients, etc. He seems really interested in what we’re doing in the kitchen, so I look forward to the day where he can more actively help out.
Thus far, Lucca is a pretty good eater. He loves avocado, peas, corn, sweet potato, strawberries, blueberries, peanut and sunflower butter, whole wheat bread, bananas and more. While he does love bread and pasta more than other foods, I am glad that he will eat (most of the time) and seems to like his fruit and veggies.
